![]() Back Pain Prevention
Page 3
The lowest region of the back - the lumbar region - is the most vulnerable area, and back pain often occurs here. This is because the lower part of the spine and abdomen muscles (core) bears the entire weight of the upper body, and is flexed, twisted and bent more than any other part of the spine. It therefore, inevitably, suffers more wear and tear. That is why core strengthening is so important. You will notice that your spine is not straight, but is actually an 's' shape. The top of the line of massage chairs use an ‘s’ track so that the massage rollers stay in perfect contact with you back. Not all backs are the same 's' shape but they are usually curved with a hollow in the base of your neck and another in the small of your back. This shape should be kept in mind as it is important to keep the natural curves in your spine whatever you are doing. Since all back are not curved the same the Premier Health Products line of massage chairs use ATT (adaptive track technology) that adjusts the roller to fit the curve of your spine. What To Do If You Hurt Your Back (First Consult Your Dr. bellow are just tips and are not a substitute for medical advise) If you have an attack of back pain, you won't do your back any harm by moving around even though it hurts unless you have serious back injury in this case you may in fact make your back worse. Movement may help you get better faster by keeping as active as possible. If you have back pain, lying in bed will not help, it may even make it worse.
